Yay!! Finally this movie comes out tomorrow…the movie’s website holds a special place for me, the flash mostly developed by yours truly (overall design by Chevon Hicks) while at Heavenspot, so it’s like our little baby. Check it out: Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle.
By the way, Chevon also created all the illustrations for the “burger world” dream sequence in the movie. talented mofo…im jealous.
A major update for flash has ben released, code named “ellipsis”. Get it here.

I’m pretty new to the whole blog-o-sphere, but my feeds have been aggregated on a couple of sites, such as full as a goog. Mostly, I intend for my blog to be focused on flash, but I also intend it to be focused on stuff that Iam interested in. I’ve noticed though that some people keep multiple blogs….for example, one for their personal life and one career-oriented.
But I’m curious, how many people see my (or someone else’s) off topic posts on a reader such as fullasagoog and either hate the fact that that they are seeing non-flash (or whatever subject category they generally are subscribing to that feed or site for) posts, or are glad to be seeing somethign else than the same story that has been regurgitated 50 times on various blogs.
Ok, this is wierd. I was listening to KFI 640 AM radio on the way home last night. The show was Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell and they were talking about the confirmation of methane on and ammonia on mars.
According to that article, this discovery had been made some 35 years ago by a guy by the name of Dr. George Pimentel, who had made the historic announcement, then a few weeks later had a sudden “change of heart” and retracted his statements. Now it appears that three separate groups have also made these confirmations, most notably one led by Professor Vittorio Formisano of the Institute of Physics and Interplanetary Science in Rome and creator of the Planetary Fourier Spectrometer (PFS) on Mars Express. This was the part that got me thinking: Dr. Formisano was supposed to hold a press conference yesterday to discuss his new findings, but from what I had heard on Coast to Coast, he has gone MIA and his office is not returning any calls.
Not trying to be a conspiracy buff or anything like that, I’m just saying it looks like someones got some information to protect.
Here’s the story that ran on BBC News last week that i totally missed.
i’ve had a pretty busy summer so far…here’s some completely random pics from my recent travels:

Took the missus on a little getaway to Santa Barbara…this one little french bakery there (I forgot its name, i’ll get back to it) has the most awesome breakfast i’ve ever eaten…baguette french toast covered in bananas and syrup. We made a return trip a few weeks later just to eat this again.

Did a little horseback riding on the beach while in SB…heres my girl and her horse, Vegas…which we thought was cool cause vegas is her favorite place on earth.

We hit up Vegas too…check the outside temp reading…117.

We stayed at the Monte Carlo on the Strip. Anyone who’s ever been to vegas knows you just don’t go to sleep while you’re there…but we were dragging ass by the second day. So, we hit this oxygen bar where where they stuck oxygen tubes in our noses, gave us an energry drink, a different energy shot, some smelling oil, a scalp massage with some funky tool and a back massage. We were good to go for the rest of the day.

Off to New York (twice actually). We took the ferry ride out to liberty island, but since we couldn’t actually get inside the statue, we didn’t get off the ferry and went right back.

ummm…
Ran into a wierd flash issue today. apparently, you can’t attach a movie clip symbol from the library to a loaded movie. So, say you have a main swf, named “main.swf”, and a movie you are going to load into that called “second.swf”, into a container clip on stage named “container_mc”. This won’t work:
bc[as]. this.container_mc.loadMovie(”second.swf”);
var newClip = this.container_mc.attachMovie(”mainLibraryClip”, “mainLibrariyClip_mc”, 1);
it WILL work, however, if the symbols you want to attach are in the loaded swf’s library. I guess you could use shared libraries if there were symbols that you intended to use from the main.swf across multiple loaded swf’s (although i havent tried that yet).

Terror in the Skies, Again?
You’ve probably heard this story already if youre up on your current events news. This is the story of the woman who was on a flight with 14 syrians acting extremely suspicious. It’s a messed up story, and will make you realize a few things: first, we are not safe, and we cant really do anything about people wanting to call mass amounts of americans; and second, the airline screening process is a complete joke.
Under the banner, “America Votes 2004 special report”:
Jenna Bush jokes with photographers
I am pretty sure the title of this article has changes since the first time I read it…i think it used to say “Jenna Bush sticks tongue out at photographers”. Such a sad state american media is in. I need to find a good news source besides cnn and google. I’m so tired of the crap I’m being fed.

This is pretty wierd, an dapprently its not the first time its been done. A city in Japan has decided to tag it’s school kids with RFID chips. Read about it here.
I’m not sure how I feel about this. I mean, I can see where they are coming from with the idea, it would be a lot easier to keep track of the kids in case something happened…but on the other hand it just makes it too easy to keep track of people. I think this is more than likely how we’ll see the situation come about in “minority report”…where people will start seeing ads specifically targeted to them and referring to them by name.
